Following a brief period of acute illness, Michael William Murphy, 76, of Columbus passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Mike graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Accounting in 1971. Mike worked in finance for different companies until his retirement in 2020. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Murphy and Jean Miller Murphy and brother Timothy Murphy. Mike is survived by his adult children: Katherine (Jason) Gehring, Kelly (Nick) Schachtschneider, and Chris (Kristina Ogden) Murphy along with six grandchildren. The family will honor his memory in a private ceremony.
