Michael Paul
Napper
Nov 14, 1954 — Nov 11, 2021
Whitehall
Michael "Mike" Paul Napper passed away on November 11 th , 2021 at the age of 66 in Columbus, Ohio. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Michael came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
He was born on November 14 th , 1954 in Marion, Ohio to Clayton "Ted" Napper and Edna Conley Napper where he lived most of his childhood with his parents and six siblings. They later moved to Whitehall, Ohio where he attended Whitehall City Schools and years later met his wife, Karen, the love of his life.
Michael was most proud of his work as a Route Delivery Driver for Pepsi, where he received several awards for his hard work and dedication. Unfortunately, due to his medical diagnosis he had to leave Pepsi, but found a new home as a Security Officer for Avis Budget Group at the Columbus Airport. He quickly climbed the ladder, achieving the rank of Captain and was greatly admired by his peers. He was often referred to as a "Big Old Teddy Bear" because of his big heart and the way he cared for all the people around him. Due to his declining health, he was forced to retire early. Upon his retirement he loved spending time with his grandkids Jayden and Rilynn, who were the lights of his life.
Michael was a sports fanatic and enjoyed several hobbies growing up such as playing competitive softball, bowling, and betting on horse races. He found a passion for golf later on in life and continued to play until he was no longer physically able. One of his many motivations to get healthier was to be able to return to the course and eventually play again. When he was at home he enjoyed watching old westerns and sports, especially Ohio State Football.
Michael is preceded in death by his father Clayton "Ted" Napper, mother Edna Conley Napper, and sister Vivian "Kay" Napper. Michael is survived by wife Karen Strapp Napper, son Jacob Napper and daughter-in-law Giannina Perez Napper, their son Jayden Napper, daughter Jamie Napper Marburger and son-in-law Matthew Marburger, their daughter Rilynn Marburger. Sister Justine Napper Atkins, Brother Ronald Napper, Sister Patricia Napper Gulley, Brothers Phillip Napper and Douglas Napper. Along with several nieces and nephews.
