Myrtle Johnson age 88 of Columbus, Ohio and Mooreland, Indiana, passed away at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 22, 202 following a brief illness.  She was born April 30, 1934, in Logan OH, a daughter of the late George and Ruth (Van Curn) Eastman.  Myrtle retired after working over 38 years in the bakery at Kroger Co. in Columbus, OH. She attended Walnut Heights Baptist Church in Columbus for many years thoroughly enjoyed any family gatherings. She enjoyed spending time doing word-search puzzles and also enjoyed spending the winter months in Mooreland, IN with her niece, Delores Runion. She leaves to cherish her memory, nieces and nephews, Chuck (Irene) Allen of Columbus, OH, Robert (Vonnie) Allen of Indianapolis, IN, Kathy Russell 0f Lancaster, OH, Bob (Kay) Eby of Lancaster, OH, Sheila Hartley of Lancaster, OH, George (Saundra) Eastman of Columbus, OH, Delores Ann (Brian) Runion of Mooreland, IN, David (Patty) Baesman of Lewisville, IN, and George Baesman of Mooreland, IN; a special friend, Arthur Jauchius of Columbus, OH. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Eugene Johnson in 2019; three sisters, Juanita Allen, Mary Eby, and Delores Baesman; a brother, George Eastman.  Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. with Pastor Ralph Short and Bill Lennox officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Friday, January 6, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Obetz Cemetery, Obetz, OH.
