Pande Budzevski's Obituary

    • Pande "Pete" Budzevski, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed suddenly following many years battling congestive heart failure at the age of 71.  He was born September 30, 1950, in Gjavato, Yugoslavia to Kiril and Gena Budzevski.  Pande's first long-term relationship was with Cheryal Barton and together they had their son, Karl Pande Carson Budzevski in 1979.  Later, he met and married the love of his life, Cana (Petrovska) Budzevski in 1984.  Together, they had two children, Gina Eckstein, and Michael Budzevski.
At the age of 16, Pande immigrated from then - Yugoslavia to the United States in search of a better life.  For many years Pande worked across the United States building water towers, railroads, and other construction-based work as he was blessed with strong hands and a will to match.  In his later years he enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral and acquiring the best produce that God's green Earth can provide to supply to just about everyone he met. Having befriended the Amish community, he enjoyed visiting them and often took friends to meet them and be introduced to their exceptional produce and interesting culture. Playing the drum at Church festivals, singing and dancing were also among his pastimes as he took after his father who was a traveling musician in his youth.
Pande lived his life in service of others no matter what the need.  Whether it was volunteering his time, know-how, skills and/ or resources to church or friends, neighbors or even a stranger, he was selfless in that way, always giving and never stopping to rest.  His love of cooking, food, music, and comradery was always shared with those he held close.  His children share his love for cooking as well and will continue his legacy of making the best Macedonian sausages so that others may continue to enjoy what he so lovingly and painstakingly created.
Although, food and acts of service were most definitely Pande's love languages, his greatest treasurers in life were his grandchildren, Mila, and Maksim Eckstein.  He was a doting dedo from the moment he learned of the pregnancies.  Although in this life we fall short of perfection, Pande's love for his family and friends is a living example of John 3:16.  Which shows that God's love is sacrificial and true unconditional love. Pande in turn gave all of himself to those he loved in his own capacity.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believe in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16.
Pande is survived by his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Cana Budzevski, their children, Karl (Leeann) Budzevski, Gina (Rob) Eckstein, Michael Budzevski (Loretta Wenger); his brother, Milan (Todorka) Budzevski, nephews Tony (Christina) Budzevski and their children, Ilce (Elizabeta) Budzevski and their children, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cherished friends.
Pande is preceded in death by his father Kiril Budzevski and mother, Gena (Topevska) Budzevski, and father-in-law Lazo Petrovski.
Please join us in celebrating Pande's life.
