Patricia Allen McKnight age 91passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026.

She was preceded in death by husband, Charles (Chuck) McKnight, parents Gladys Allen Sanford and Arthur R. Allen, and sister Kay Allen Wagenbrenner.

Survived by: daughters Cindy McKnight (Stacey O'Brien) and Mindy Soga-Gullatte (James) and son Benn McKnight-Steffen (Gene). Grandchildren Jared (Courtney), Amy Harshberger (Seth), Kylee and Dylan Soga, Connor O'Brien; former son-in-law Wally Soga, and stepbrother Louis (Nancy) Sanford. Great-grandson Jack was welcomed into the family in September 2025. A large extended family that includes many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews who were a very important part of her life.

Patricia received her BS and MS degree in dietetics from The Ohio State University. She was an Assistant Professor, Nutrition, at Mt. Carmel College of Nursing for over 60 years.

As a Licensed, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, she was an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the Columbus Dietetic Association. Long-time legislation/state policy chairman for the Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Dietetic Liaison to the Ohio Medical Board. Several positions of leadership in dietetics at the district, state, and national level.

Board member of Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, LifeCare Alliance Member.
