Ravalon Aldo Matfield, II, 51 was suddenly called to rest on December 28, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to the union of Valerie Amy and Ravalon Aldo Matfield, Sr. on October 23, 1974, in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

As a child, Ravalon was the family's "Lil' Jr.", he was full of rambunctious energy that they lovingly and caringly attempted to settle down. As an adult, he grew to be a family-man, possessing a strong love and affinity for his parents, children, siblings, cousins, and other family members to the best of his capability. Ultimately, Ravalon's faith in God remained a powerful constant in his life that carried him through. He graduated from South Garland High School, June 5, 1993, and earned a full-ride scholarship to play football at Laredo Community College of Laredo, TX. Ravalon acquired his Commercial Driving License (CDL) and became a Logistics Specialist for several logistics' companies.

Ravalon is preceded in death by both his grandmothers, Lillie Mae Matefield-Sanders and Beulah B. Shaw; special uncles, Michael Matfield, Sr. and Dr. Fredrick C. Shaw, and a host of other Aunts and Uncles; and sister, Crystal M. Matfield.

Ravalon leaves behind to mourn his passing and cherish his fond memories: mother, Valerie Matfield-Cobb (Dolphus White), Columbus, OH; father, Ravalon A. Matfield, Sr. (Debra), Indianapolis, IN; sons from his union with Phanon Bonsu, Ravalon Matfield III and Xavier Matfield, both of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Aamarah and Milo Matfield, both of Columbus, OH; sister, Ravshundria Matfield, Columbus, OH; brothers, Marsalis Cobb, Columbus, OH and Drake Matfield, Kansas City, MO; nieces and nephew, Hope Matfield, Columbus, OH and Faith Matfield, Virginia Beach, VA, Tanya Cornelius, St. Joseph, MO, Angel Cornelius, Kansas City, MO; and Zion Cobb; great-nephew and niece, Eric and Autumn Robey; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ravalon was his maternal grandmother, Beulah Shaw's, heart-beat and his auntie, Alfreda's, other son.
