Reuben Lee entered this world on 1/13/1960 and departed on 12/31/2022. He was a native of Trenton, NJ, but Columbus, OH was his home. Reuben was full of life and he loved his family. He was an excellent cook; the life of the party, and a magnificent dancer. Reuben loved the art of hand dancing and when joined by his favorite dance partner, and sister, Paulette Lee, they'd light up the dance floor. Together, they captivated onlookers with their pastime tradition of hand movements, twists, turns, and coordinated partner steps executed in sync.
Equally, as a man with a giving heart, Reuben often shared his outlook on the world with his family, friends, and neighbors. He loved helping mature adults and people in his community that were in need. So much in fact that his good deeds didn't go unnoticed. When many were recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, he continued to serve. Consequently, some of his neighbors reached out to a local broadcast news network to express how much Reuben's efforts meant to those he impacted.
In the aired "good neighbor" segment, Reuben talked about his work to help youth make better choices to achieve their dreams. Additionally, a representative from a local community house stated that "Reuben is a joy to have in the community. It's really helpful to know that the community is being cared for by neighbors like him."
Reuben is survived by his mother, Bernice Lee, whom he loved dearly; brother DeLawrence Lee; sisters Vivian Ponder, Lisa Slappy, and Paulette Lee; along with many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his father Ruby Lee; brothers Gary Lee and Virgil Lee. His love and kindness will be truly missed.
