Robert Gerald Butterfield, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025. A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished friend, Robert's life was defined by quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and deep love for his family.

Born on March 28, 1935, Robert spent his life in hard work and service. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served with the 4th Infantry Division. After his military service, he devoted 40 years to his work as a dairy laborer — a career marked by integrity, commitment, and resilience.

Robert was a man of deep values and steadfast loyalty. He was a lifelong fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and even more so, a man devoted to those he loved. He was the beloved husband of the late Beata Butterfield, the love of his life, with whom he shared a lasting and beautiful bond.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Robert Butterfield; his brother, Donny Butterfield; and his beloved wife, Beata.

Robert is survived by his sister Nancy; his children William (Rhonda), Bradley, and Mary; and his grandchildren: Ethan, Bryant, Jaymie (Nate) Rodenberger, Zac (Christina), Jordin (Ryan) Hayes, Alex (Genna), Jaycie (Shawn) Schrader, Seth (Sydney), Joshua, Jessica, Katarina, Briana, Tristan, Alexandra, and Elizabeth; and his dog and best friend Coco. He also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his later years.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 4th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 4171 E Livingston Ave. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, June 5th, at 10:30 a.m. at the same location.

Robert will be remembered for his dedication, humility, and the love he gave freely to his family. His memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
