Ronald "Ron" Jay Savage of New Albany, Ohio was born on October 17, 1937, in Canton, Ohio, and passed away peacefully on April 5, 2023.

Ron was the first child of Harold and Dina (Cooper) Savage. He was a graduate of McKinley High School in Canton, Ohio, where he played Football. He then attended The Ohio State University before serving in the United States Army. After being discharged, Ron went back to the family business. Later, he owned and operated his own sporting goods store for over twenty years. Ron was an avid golfer who enjoyed testing his skills on many courses throughout the country.

Ron married his best friend and the love of his life Libby Kay (Brenner) Savage in 1963, after a brief courtship. They raised five children in Canton, Ohio, before relocating to Columbus, Ohio in 1986. They shared 56 wonderful years together before her passing in 2019.

Ron is survived by his five children: Robert Savage, Bryan (Allison) Savage, Joan (Harlan) Wahrman, Kevin (Debbie) Savage, Keith (Jenny) Savage. His cherished grandchildren: Nathan Savage, Ashley (Scott) Schall, Courtney (Alex) Stebelton, Connor Wahrman, Zachary Wahrman, Alyssa Savage, Ainsley Savage and Jillian Savage and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Sheri Nusbaum, brother-in law Arthur (Lois) Brenner, sister-in-law Elaine (Richard) Cole, along with many nieces and nephews.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Dina Savage, in-laws Nathan and Esther Brenner and brother-in-law Jay Nusbaum (all of blessed memory).

The funeral will be a private graveside service at Maplewood Cemetery in New Albany, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice.
