It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sam Williams Jr., who departed this world peacefully on October 26, 2024, at 1:43pm, surrounded by loved ones. Sam was born on 10/16/1946 in Hendersonville, NC, the beloved son of Samuel and Mamie Williams. He is preceded in death by parents Samuel and Mamie Williams, son Dana, daughter Glynis, brother Joseph (son Kenneth), sister Marilyn, brother Claude Peak.

He lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and a steadfast dedication to his family, friends, and community.

Sam was known for his warm smile, compassionate spirit, and the unwavering support he offered to everyone around him. As a City worker for the City Sanitation Department for 35 years and Grant Medical Center for many years, he made an impact on many lives, earning the admiration and respect of those who had the pleasure of working with him. Sam's loyal commitment for his Family and Grandchildren, The BROWNS, his love for jazz enriched his life and brought joy to those who shared in these passions.

Sam is survived by wife Peggy Williams, daughter Glynis (Jason, Jordan, & Kaylin), Dana (Brandon), daughter Ledra (Mychael ( Kenya) Mychael, Matthew ( Dynasty )Akira, Melanie (Harmony& Hope), son Curtis (Tammy) Talisa, Curtis ,Jr. Shakim, Jajuan, Maleek, Makhi, daughter Kisha (Mekye, Mekiah, Mya & Lefonda), daughter Daira Children(Amillio); sisters, Sammetta  Williams, Elizabeth(Dan)Barwick , Annie Mae Stokes close family members, such as spouse, who will carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and remembered for the light he brought into the world.

A memorial service celebrating Sam's life will be held on November 9. 2024,12pm to 2pm, Evans Funeral Home 4171 E Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH 43227.

Sam Williams Jr. will always be remembered with love and gratitude by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
