Sandra Jane Nye (nee Foster)
Sandra Nye, beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2024 at the age of 86.
Known as Sonnie, Mommy, and Gram, she was a loving force of kindness and good cheer. She devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren and to her friendships, both old and new.
Sandra was born in Newark, Ohio and graduated from Granville High School in 1956. She worked at Dollar Federal before meeting the love of her life, Michael Albert Nye, whom she married in 1966. She continued to work outside the home while raising her three children and supporting them in every possible way. Her personal interests included Granville history, bingo, gardening–roses in particular, birdwatching, family reunions, mystery novels, Ohio sports, exploring "shortcuts" on her way home, and always making the dreams of her family come true.
She is survived by her children Jennifer Nye (Thomas Sumter), Foster Nye (Carol), Robert Nye; brother Michael Foster (Colleen); sisters Diane Bostancic (Bill), Mary Philipps (Bud); granddaughters Erin Nye and Shannon Nye, her greatest pride and joy.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Michael Albert Nye; her parents Hubert Kenneth Foster and Margaret Grace Foster (nee Baker).
The family would like to thank the warm and caring support of Brookdale Westerville and Capital City Hospice. Their kindness will never be forgotten.
