Sandy Young age 81 passed peacefully in her home, as was her wish. She is survived by children Sherry and John Michael, sister-in-law Robin (Dave), nephew Stephen Leach and cousin Scott Forthman, as well as the multitude of friends that she always considered family. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Mildred O'Brien, mother Florence Leach, and beloved brother Michael Leach. Sandy graduated from Linden-McKinley High School and earned an Associate of Science degree from The Ohio State University in Horse Production and Management. She worked at Beulah Park for many years and had a great enthusiasm for the Sport of Kings. She worked her way through school as a server at the Claremont and the Wine Cellar, making lifelong friends of many of her customers. She had a long career as a clerk at The Ohio State University, serving in the Vet Clinic, the Print Shop, and other places as needed. Sandy was deeply committed to her faith, and to her Church community at Eastland Christian Church. Although her illness precluded regular attendance, she was always ready to help and support those in need any way she could. She is fondly remembered for her independence, her humor, her kindness, and her honesty. Funeral service Monday, December 12, 2022 12:00 noon Evans Funeral Home 4171 E. Livingston Ave. where friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service. She will be interred at Sabina Cemetery, Sabina, Ohio in a private family ceremony.
