Sharon Glendyne
Mills
Sep 14, 1945 — Jan 31, 2026
Ft. Myers
Sharon Mills, 80, of Fort Myers, Florida, and formerly Ripley, West Virginia, went home to the Lord on January 31, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Inez, Kentucky on September 14, 1945, the daughter of the late Luther Blankenship and Gladys (Preece) Blankenship.
Sharon was a homemaker who cared deeply for others. If you were lucky enough to be family, then you knew she would do anything for you. Many others were lucky enough to simply be treated as family by Sharon. She was kind to a fault and always willing to help those in need. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with them more than anything.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Racine, Ohio. Her faith was very important to her, and she enjoyed bringing that faith to her family.
She is survived by her son, Greg Mills, and his wife Teresa; daughter, Beth Shaver; grandchildren, Sean Flegle, Taylor Mills, David Shaver, and Kelly Shaver; great grandchildren, Lexy Flegle, Lillian Mills, and Chloe Mills; and siblings, Lushie Herron, Becky Parsley, and Gail Hammond. She was predeceased by her grandson, Christopher Mills; and her siblings, Russell Blankenship, Donald Blankenship, Betty Frazier, and Helen Davis.
Sharon wanted to be cremated and have a small family graveside service. Her family will be honoring those wishes. She will be laid to rest next to Roscoe Mills in the Great Bend Cemetery in Portland, Ohio later in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in her honor to The Meigs County Foundation, 35 Public Square, Nelsonville, OH 45764.
