Shirley Harris Chapman (born Cox), 89, passed away December 19, 2021, at Whetstone Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Columbus, Ohio and was the only child of Robert and Wilma (Preston) Cox.  Shirley had a long career working at the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, the national office of the NAACP, Flying Tigers, Sears, and JC Penney's. She enjoyed reading, sharing pictures with her grandchildren, and talking with life-long friends Ruth Ann Vance, Ginger Cunningham, and Anita Nesmith. She is predeceased by her parents, former husbands Charles Harris and William Chapman, and sons Robert Harris, Kenneth and Keith Chapman. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Carmen) Harris and Phillip (Jennifer) Chapman. She is also survived by her grandchildren Micah and Preston (Payton) Harris, Devon Legore, Ciarra Chapman, Alex, Ty, Lauryn, Ryan, and Katelyn Chapman and her great-granddaughters Kyrah and Skylar Harris. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Michelle Chapman, aunt Virginia Davidson, cousins Sally English, Eddie Cox, Rosemary Cox and a many other relatives.
