Obituary

Simeon Gjamov age 80 of Columbus, Ohio, passed peacefully at home with loved ones by his side October 22, 2023. He was born July 25, 1943, in Bitola, Macedonia to parents Petre and Donka. Simeon studied Economics, received his diploma from High Economic and Commercial School in NiS, Serbia, and worked as a Dispatcher for Transcop before moving to the United States with his family in 1972.  Here in Columbus, Ohio, he learned the trade of tailoring and provided exemplary service for Sears, Macy's, and Joseph A. Banks before retiring in 2008. Though he may not have first intended to make the USA his life's home, he was proud to be an American while remaining devoted to his birthplace, visiting Macedonia regularly to soak in the hot springs, walk the paths of his youth, and spend time with beloved sisters, family, and friends. An avid bird lover, Simeon provided a home for many feathered friends throughout his lifetime and enjoyed spotting wild varieties in nature when walking regularly in our city's metro parks. Simeon was a proud and supportive father, lovingly dubbed, "Daddio", and was known to spoil and impress the grandkids as, "Dedo", with his sneaky generosity on birthdays and holidays. Simeon is preceded in death by parents Petre and Donka Gjamov, sister Cana Kacevska, brothers-in-law, Dimce Kacevski and Vangel Kuzmanovski, nephew Zoran Kuzmanovski, and former father-in-law, George Georgovski. He is survived by his sisters Mahi Kuzmanovska, Zdravka Sagdinova, and their families, sons Jovan (Jill) Gjamov and Laze Gjamov, grandchildren Jovan Maxwell and James Mason Gjamov, Jake Alexzander and Gabriella Marie Gjamov (Niki), as well as former spouse and friend, Luba Gjamova, former mother-in-law, Marija Georgovski and supportive members of their family, as well as cherished friends.
