Trina Ann Shively, 63 of Gahanna, Ohio passed away on February 26th 2024, due to
complications from lung cancer. An unexpected announcement to everyone, as in her character
she did not want to burden anyone and chose to not let her illness be known.
Trina was born in Columbus, Ohio on October 4th 1960 to Don Shively Sr. and Pierina Shively
(Moro). She grew up with siblings Joey, Louie, Don, and her twin Tina. Who are all now reunited
in God's kingdom.
Trina is survived by her son, Jerrod Bates, her sister-in-law Donna Shively, niece Devin
Mcintyre, and nephews Gabriel, Joey, Derek, Tony, and Sean Shively.
As Pierina loving and reverently tended her own mother through the difficult times in her
declining health, so too did Trina, Tina, Joey, Louie, and Donny graciously accept the privileged.
burden of taking care of their ailing mother Pierina until the lord called her home.
The new young patriarch of the family, Donny, did his best to provide and reinforce the morals
and familial bonds that their mother had instilled in them. Their Sicilian Heritage stood firm as
the young family depended on one another to survive.
Loving, compassionate, determined, ferociously protective, faithful, loyal, perseverant, all the
qualities that have been passed down and are currently exhibited by the surviving generation,
who like their parents, did not hesitate to give the same loving care when the time arose, and
were there for their own mothers and fathers.
Trina was a beacon of love and light to those around her. She loved the lord first and foremost,
and in turn he provided for her. She always had faith and the deepest belief that everything.
would work out as it should according to God's plan. His hand moved to those around her in her
greatest time of need, and among many others, her son Jerrod's Fiancé Lorena offered her into
their home with open arms. There she loved and continued to spread her joy and love, and it
was reciprocated by their family Arsenio, Alondra, and Alexander who all loved her dearly and
took immense pride in helping to assist her in any need she had.
Trina had an ability to endure hardship for others. She loved everyone and treated everyone she
knew as family. She would sacrifice much for others. Her joy in life was to take care of those
around her. Anyone was welcome in her home, and she would make sure they were comfortable
and well fed.
As the lord determined that her work in spreading his love and his word here on earth was
complete, he called her home, to be reunited once again with her mother, brothers, and twin
sister, and forever in his eternal glory.
There will be a Mass held on March 8th, at Christ the King Church (2777 East Livingston Ave.
Columbus, Ohio 43209) at 10:30 am. After mass we will meet at Mifflin cemetery (155 Olde
Ridenour Rd. Gahanna, Ohio 43230) for her final rest at 12:00 pm.
