Wanda Mae (Dever) Buckland, 89, received her eternal reward on May 19, 2023.  Wanda passed peacefully from this world to her Heavenly home with her daughter and a loved one by her side after a 17-month stay at Violet Springs Health Campus in Pickerington, Ohio.  Wanda was born on August 17, 1933, in Mill Gap, Virginia, to the late Ethel Lantz Dever.  Wanda lived in Canal Winchester, Ohio, since 1994, coming from Laurel, Maryland.

Wanda grew up in Buckeye, WV, where she graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1952.  She spent most of her working years in banking until she retired from Nations Bank (now known as Bank of America).  Wanda had a passion for reading and making desserts, especially her chocolate fudge.

Wanda will be deeply missed by her family including her loving daughter, Teresa Saneda; grandsons, Joshua and Jonathan Saneda; great-grandchildren, Harper and Brody Saneda, all of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Dorothy Lane of Winston-Salem, NC; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.  Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Dever; son, Gregory Buckland; brothers, Warren Dever, Ivan "Harper" Dever, and Curtis "Buck" Dever; sister, Irene Vaughan; and son-in-law, James Saneda.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Marvin Chapel in Buckeye, West Virginia, with Pastor Fred Goldizen officiating.  The family will receive friends at Marvin Chapel from 1 p.m. until the time of service.  Interment will take place at Ruckman Cemetery in Buckeye, West Virginia.
