William "Bill" Wardle age 85 passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023.  He was employed with IRD for over 40 years. Graduate South High School class of 1956.   He was scouted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1956.  He was an avid baseball fan, and loved trains, classic cars, westerns and ice cream.  Survived by wife of 37 years, Sharon Wardle; sons, William Kevin (Laura) Wardle, William Christopher (Stephanie) Wardle, William Shawn (Melissa) Wardle; step-daughter, Staci (Bill) Herron; grandchildren, Harrison (Ali) Wardle, Elizabeth Wardle, Riley Wardle, Olivia Wardle, Amanda Herron, Abbey Herron; brother John Robert (Brenda) Wardle; nieces, Pamela (Michael) Wardle, Hilary Sugar.  Preceded in death by parents, Harold and Dorothy Wardle; half-brother Hal Greathouse.  Funeral service, Thursday, September 7, 2023, 3:30 PM EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. where friends may call 1 hour prior to service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
