Woodrow (Woody) Wilson Wellman, 95, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 25, 2024.  At the time of his death, he lived with his daughter in Delaware, OH.

Woodrow was born on September 26, 1929, in Fort Gay, WV.  In 1948, he moved to Columbus, OH after  high school graduation and resided for most of his adult years in Whitehall, OH.  He retired from Columbus Coated Fabrics and spent his retirement years managing his rental properties and working part time in security for Ohio Support Services.  Woodrow loved his Lord, was devoted to caring for his wife and children, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a hard worker who spoke about returning to work even when he was in his 90s, which made his family smile because they knew he meant it.  He enjoyed playing the stock market and was successful at it (mostly).  He had a fantastic head for numbers and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him remarked on his kind-hearted nature.

‍Woodrow is survived by his three children: Glen (Beverly) Wilson, Joyce Perry, and David Wellman. Eight grandchildren: Frances Black, Kimberly Wilson, Shawn Wilson, Chris (Melinda Lauber) Fenimore, Sarah (Zac) Martella, Allyson (Jared) Vance, Wil Perry, and Kira Perry.  Seven great-grandchildren: Tyler Wilson, Shawn Wilson II, Camron Wolford, Liam Martella, Nala Skidmore, Robert Vance, and Gabriel Vance.  Siblings: Rena Verle Terrell of Port Charlotte, FL; Philistia Adkins of Canal Winchester, OH; and David Wellman of Pickerington, OH.  Brother-in-law Martin Hay (Pam) of Louisa (Smokey Valley), KY. Sisters-in-law Kate (Ken) Kiriacopoulos and Clare (Carl) Frazier, both of Lexington, KY, Virginia Hay of Springboro, OH, and Francie (Dave) Lewis of Warrenton, VA.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

‍Woodrow is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Laura Alice (Hay) Wellman of Louisa, KY.  Parents: Gordon and Verna (Bowen) Wellman of Fort Gay, WV.  Siblings: James (Curtis) Wellman, Gordon Eugene (Gene) Wellman, both of Columbus, OH.  Son-in-law Eugene Perry. Brothers-in-law William (Bill) Terrell of Port Charlotte, FL and Ivan (Johnny) Adkins of Columbus, OH, Ed Hay of Lexington, KY, George Hay of Louisa, KY, William (Dexter) Hay of Huntington, WV, and Lee Roy Hay of Conroe, Texas.  Sisters-in-law Christel Wellman and Shirley Wellman of Columbus, OH, Judy Wellman of Pickerington, OH, and Ruth Ann Smith of Louisa, KY.
